Shared Folders not accessible on Windows 10 Desktop

    Hello Everyone.

First of all, how my ethernet is configured.

1 router connected to the internet.
1 desktop pc (W10 pro, x64) connected through LAN to the router.
2 android devices connected through wifi, 1 of them a tablet, over 5ghz band and the other a smartphone, over 2.4 ghz band.

My objective is to enable shared folders on the Windows PC and access them from the android devices.
I have thus created these shares and given appropriate sharing and security rights (to everyone, as security is not of concern).

    What is happening:
    ------------------

The android devices correctly see the Windows PC on the network (using interfaces like CX file explorer or ES explorer). When connecting to it though, almost immediately an error is returned "could not connect to device XXX with user XXX".

    What I tried:
    -------------
    Enabling/Disabling password protected shares.
    Switching DHCP/Static address.
    Enabling/Disabling Ipv6
    Switching between 128/56-40bit cryptography
    Enabling/Disabling SMB1 protocol
    Changing PC network name
    Switching between private/public networks

The shares appear correctly in the "network" pane of the file explorer in Windows, and they are accessible.

I also have lent a windows 8 notebook, which i connected to my router both by ethernet cable and Wifi: in both cases, the tablet would correctly see my PC on the network, but then returned "could not find network path" when trying to access it.

I'm pretty much out of ideas on what else can be done to make these shares work.
I'm not sure on where exactly the problem lies, the relevant windows 10 services appear to be correctly configured (like Upnp, Function discovery host etc.).
I'm afraid it could be some wrong setting in the registry, or in policies, of which I have little knowledge.
My network adapter is a E2400 Killer Network gigabit, while the router is a technicolor model with ffth.

Windows version number: 1909(OS build 18363.959)

So I joined this forum with the hope of finding some advice.
Apologies for the long post, I tried to put in it the most information i could.

    Thanks for your attention.

    thanks for your reply.

I had previously tried to enable/disable the firewall in w10 (I use Evorim's free firewall instead of the defaults), but without luck. Same goes for public/private network. The vid also seems to concern more remote desktop than shared folders; in fact I hope I don't have to activate it in order to enable shares.

In the recent past, while still under windows seven, the shared folders worked flawlessly. I configured the W10 system pretty much the same way. In fact I'm becoming rather pessimistic about finding a way to make them work, it appears that a whole lot of users are experiencing some problems in this particular subject.

I'm wondering if it's the ms way to push users into using OneDrive, or cloud storaging in general.

with all respect, I don't think there should be any need for installing this app to enable shared folders.
it also appears to potentially be able to act as an android data mining mean for ms, which I'm not going to risk.
