How to throttle own bandwidth for reduce data consumption during Zoom
Hello everyone
I've heard that Zoom always tries to provide the best quality sound and video that a user's internet connection allows. This means that users with fast but expensive connections will pay a lot of money for every Zoom meeting, even if lower quality experiences would be perfectly acceptable. Do you know of a way (a simple method inside Windows, or a free/cheap program) that can be used to throttle down (i.e. reduce) the bandwidth (i.e. MB per minute) available to Zoom?
I know there are things one can do to reduce Zoom's data consumption, but Zoom will still try to provide the best possible experience regardless of the financial cost to the user. Wi-Fi isn't free or cheap everywhere.
Thanks
Samuel
PS. My own Windows version is 1903 18362.959, but my question relates to Windows 10 generally.
PPS. In the mean time, I've discovered that NetLimiter 4 is simple and easy-to-use and successfully throttles one of my browsers (haven't tested it on Zoom yet, but I have high hopes). It costs $20 after the trial period.
