By no means I am an expert, but try this. On one of the Windows 10 machines that is slow; open Run > type services.msc and then hit enter.

Services popup appears. Scroll and find "Computer Browser", write down what your setting is (should be manual). Stop the service and then change the startup to "Disabled", reboot

Try your Windows 10 and see if that helps. If not then go back and set back your settings.

    Hello,

It was on "Manual" and "Running".

I did like you advised and no result.

    Thank you

And one, maybe important (?) symptom for all of you... maybe someone will have an idea based on this...

During the slow save which sometimes take 1-6 minuts to save, I cannot access that computer via TeamViewer. It is inaccessible. Somehow slow save is affecting TeamViewer and the protocols it uses.

This issue with TeamViewer during the slow save is confirmed on three different computers (Windows 8, Windows 10).

Maybe this can guide some of you to a new ideas :)

Have you reset the ethernet connection on your new clients to auto-negotiate yet?

    Hello Jack,

by that, do you mean "Reset Now" button in the network settings of Windows 10?

If YES, I will do that tomorrow when I am back to office. I don't like to do these things remotely, not to lose connection to the PC :)

Sorry but how can I map the database name directly?
I am not opening database, I am opening a program. Program manages database. Please explain. Thank you
When you open the application, it knows that the data file resides at m:\data (the m:\data is an example). This was setup during the install of the application and you should be able to change that destination at anytime. so, instead of pointing to m:\data you would change it to \\servername\data

Some applications prefer the UNC and not a mapped drive. Hope it works for you.

I did try now... no success. I tested with PC name and also with IP address. Thank you!

No, I'll walk you through the steps in a subsequent post. I don't have time right now.

    Here goes:

    For Windows 10

    Goto Start>Settings>Network and Internet
    Click "Change Adapter Options"
Right Click on the Ethernet Adapter Icon
    Click "Properties"
    Click "Configure"
    Click "Advanced"
    Click "Speed and Duplex"
    Click the "Value" drop-down box
    Click "Auto Negotiation"
    Click "OK"

    Reboot the Computer.

When the computer restarts, it will check the speed and duplex settings of your network and adjust the settings of the Ethernet adapter to match.

    I hope this helps.
