Try looking at the relevant driver details when in Safe Mode with Networking as I suggested.
Sorry I didn't get that from your post. Sometimes I can be dense I'll give it a try and let you know what I see.

It's not your laptop it's Windows 10. I tried every suggestion that I found and nothing worked to get the wireless adapter to work on my desktop.

My desktop is not close enough to use a wired connection. In my search some user have said that the option to use the wireless network in safe mode was removed in newer versions of Windows 10.

IMHO it was a very asinine thing to do.

Not if you consider the security implications.

Just because one is using Safe Mode doesn't mean the don't know how to securely use a wireless connection.

The opposite is true as well.

    Back onto my topic...

Last three days I've had an error with Intel Pro/Set wireless zero configure service.

I found a thread that indicated that uninstalling and reinstalling fixed that. So, I have done that. I have no idea if it's related to my problem or not.

I'm going to watch for another failure on that, and watch for the black screen. If it continues, I'm going to hook the laptop up to wired network, and disable the WiFi and see if it still happens.
