    How can I easily rename devices located in Network without ill effect?


    Hi all -

    I have a question...

    See the screenshot below. Note the device in grey.

    Is it possible to *easily* rename some of the W10 devices listed without registry hacks or ill effect?

    That network device appears to be an LG TV. The name that appears under 'Other Devices' was not assigned to it by your Windows PC, it is the name the device announces to the network. If you want to change its name you should be able to from the TV's own on-screen menu. I certainly can for my Panasonic Viera TV.

    Yes, I know. I just thought that I could rename it from W10 - same for other devices.
