Wi Fi Extender Paired to Router Correctly

OPS Windows 10.

My Wi Fi Router model name is WR7010 v2 and the MAC address is XXXXXXXXXC8B.

My Wi Fi Extender name is WR7010-2.4G-C8B_EXT.

I paired them with WPS. Are they paired correctly? They are both appearing on the Wi Fi Analyzer.

Well, if you connect to WR7010-2.4G-C8B_EXT and you have internet, then they are paired correctly.

A quick way to test if the range extender is working is to use speedtest.net, fast.com (or similar) on a laptop or similar near the point where you connect to the modem/router.
Take that reading and go to the second point (extender) and see what your speed is. Then disconnect the extender and test again - the reading should be slower with a drop in signal.

another trick when using a WIFI extender - especially if it has a LAN port is to connect computer to lan port on the extender (via a USB->LAN Ethernet adapter) or use a cheap unmanaged switch so COMPUTER-->SWITCH-->Extender--Router via wifi.

Now set the extender to use BOTH 5 GHZ and 2.4 GHZ frequencies concurrently and set the ethernet adapter on your computer to use FULL DUPLEX.

You should get much better throughput and with some better wifi extenders the theoretical maximum speed on Wifi these days is around 900 - 1.3 Gb/s(Gigabits / sec).

Thank you to all the Gurus that responded to my query.
1. Compumind - I tested your process and there was a difference in speed when I unplugged the extender.
2. NavyLCDR - the Extender WR7010-2.4G-C8B_EXT requires a Network Security key to connect to WiFi .
The security key or pin number is no longer legible on my Extender.

If you can't connect to the extender's WiFi channel, then it is useless.
