Power line adapters would solve the problems giving full speed and cheap now
Power line adapters would solve the problems giving full speed and cheap now
Thanks to all of you for the hints, that helped me find the solution I needed - thanks to JackHughes post about "Allow other network users to connect through this computers Internet connection."
Actually that was not the solution but it leaded me to another post from someone else. There the solution was to bridge the two network adapters on PC2. There in the properties of the Network-Bridge is a checkbox list of all available networks where you simply check the one which windows should use to connect to other local computers in the network.
PROBLEM SOLVED!

Create a network bridge - Vista - MSHelp
You shouldn't create a bridge between an Internet connection and a network connection because it creates an unprotected link between your network and the Internet, which makes your network accessible to anyone on the Internet

GREAT! :-(
But when I think about it, where is the difference, when I have file sharing enabled on my Wireless network then both PCs connect and file-share via the WiFi that is connected to the internet. I have a firewall in my ASUS modem/router and Kaspersky Internet security. Isnīt that enough? What is different when I bridge the Wireless-Network with the local network and set file-sharing only via the local network?
Perhaps someone can explain to me how a network bridge (wireless nic bridged to ethernet nic) in PC No. 2 accomplishes Cyberpete's objective.
As I understand a network bridge, all network traffic including file and print sharing is still handled by the router. Which tells me that the transfer speed for all network traffic is still limited to the transfer speed of the wireless connection.
I have zero experience with network bridges so I'm probably missing something here.
