A friend of mine gave me an unused Share Max N300 Wireless N Router. I already pressed the "Reset" button many times. I left the field blank as it said, but I got "Incorrect password". I entered the password shown on the card that had come with the router, but I got "Incorrect password" too. What can I do?

I just chatted with a Belkin technician online. The solution is to hold down the "Reset" button for 20 seconds. The setting page does not ask for a password now.

I would get rid of that asap as you have a router whose spec is way way outdated. Also that goes for the firmware as well, as the older models get replaced with the newer stuff, they tend to get phased out from firmware updates much like android phones who only get updates for "up to" 2 years.

According to this, the last time they updated the firmware for that thing was in 2012.

So it will definitely be missing modern hotfixes for performance/security.
