Download speed plummeted for no reason (not a router problem)

So recently i just turned my computer on, and tried to download a 200Mb (megabytes, not megabits) file. I realised that from the usual 8-9Mbps, i was only getting 200Kbps (kilobytes).
It doesn't seem to be a problem with my router since downloading on my phone and everywhere else is completely fine.
What could've happened and how would i fix this?

(i have the latest windows 10 as of today but this has nothing to do with a windows update)

And also, Steam (popular game market) can download my games at full speed and somehow even Discord (chatting and calling app) works fine even with it using a lot of network.

Hi Samuel. Welcome to the TenForums @Samuel Bonco

Not sure how you can be so sure it is not related to an Update, sounds like you took V2004.

Did you force update or was it offered in Windows update?

Assume it is wired connection. Please ensure network adapter is set to use full duplex.

I might even power cycle router, no harm in doing so, and would try a Network Reset. Start > Settings > Network and Internet > scroll down to bottom of right hand side > Network Reset.

If you do a network reset you will have to reinstall / configure special comm software like VPN's.

Was this problem present before the update?

    Hello again,

Thank you for replying, i actually fixed it by trying some stuff from some other threads... Sorry for the bother but it wasn't the windows update because it started happening a while after i updated. I fixed it by changing some of the network settings, but i don't remember what. Sorry...
