why is my internet going away

router A is in the living room and the main internet wire is going into it. router B is in my bedroom and i connected a long network wire from A to B and the network wire is going to port number 4 in the router and the light of the port is on

the internet is spoiling in my room and when that happens the light of port number 4 is off. i have to unplug the network wire from port number 4, then i switch off the router, then i plug in the network wire and then i switch on the router and the light is coming back on in port number 4 and then the internet comes back in my room. it works for a few days and then the light of port number 4 goes off again and i have to repeat the steps to fix it

before the internet used to spoil in my room once every month. now it spoils once every few days. what is going on? is the fault on:-
    1) head of the network wire which goes into B and i have to cut the head and connect a new head to the wire. however, i have to pull hard to unplug the wire so it means that the head is not loose and it's in properly
    2) router settings are bad and i am getting invalid ip address
    3) router is bad

    Hi,

Is it a good quality pure copper cat 6 cable ? Are your connectors rated cat 6 too ? i'm sure it's under 300 feet long... Or you have a really big house.

if the connectors are really hard to unplug check for damage in both cable Male / Female on the router. I have seen some crimpers doing a bad job.

Make sure your cable does not run too near high power electric motors or neon ballasts.

Since the interface shuts down it could be a miss connection or a failing component in one of the switching devices on one your routers.

    Try different ports both ends.

Edit: Make sure your secondary router has a different IP on the same subnet and that the DHCP server is disabled on it

Your ethernet cable should have a clip retainer - just need to press the clip and gently remove the connector from the socket. No need for force.

Attaching a RJ45 connector to the cable needs a specialized tool, and a certain amount of knowledge.

My guess is you are not making the ethernet cable correctly and/or are damaging it by pulling hard for no reason.

Just buy a CAT6 cable of the correct length and use it.

Problems with the router can be for a variety of reasons. The most common causes are wires and contacts. There are also times when the router fails.
