    SQL Problem with Elsawin installation

    Hello,
I am trying to install Elsawin which automatically installs SQL 2008.
    The PC is a i7-2600 with 16GB and Windows10 v1909 installed on a SSD.
I have installed the same program successfully on an old AMD64x2 - 6000 with 4GB Ram also running an SSD.
When I try to install on the i7 PC it stalls usually at the same point - when it comes to the "IPSvrHis" database. I had the occasional error code -595541211 or -2067413165.
I have added the current user in the "Back up files and directories" section to grant rights.

Does anyone have an idea how to convince SQL to install properly?

You probably already know about this site and have much experience installing this software but I'll post it anyway because it has relevance to SQL. You didn't say what version of Elsawin you have so I hope this matches your version.

    Hi Lance1,

I have not been on that site before.
So far for years I have used Elsawin 4.1 installed and it installs and runs fine.
I then "tried" Elsawin upgrade versions 5.0 up to 6 on my old PC and that installed
It is when I try to install Elsawin 5.0 upgrade or Elsawin 6.0 standalone installer that I get the error messages on my main PC.

I will try and follow their instructions although they do not explain the SQL errors.

    Any ideas regarding those?

I managed to install Elsawin 5.x up to 6.
I had to add the user - me - to the policies and also change / correct the user name in: - Local Security Policy, - Local Policies, - User Rights Assignment, - Back up files and Directories Property:

Because my PC used 2 different terms for my login and the current user , I also had to change the user name in the system. My login is "RK" but the user name set by Win 10 is "user".

SQL seemed to hick up on this.

To change the user name I used the command:
wmic useraccount where name="Current Name" rename "New Name"

I tried 2 other options which did not seem to work to change the user account name:
    - I downloaded - Account Profile Fixer. I am glad I had done a backup with Macrium so I could restore the system as the Account Profile Fixer had messed up the system settings badly.

    - I used or tried to use: netplwiz and also lusrmgr.msc. Neither of them worked to change the user account name.
