It does show up in DOS as x:

Why is this share in existence yet not in existence. ? why is it called e but then x ?

I think what is going on here is that I have tried to make so many shares on this drive that the ntfs permmissions might be all screwed up. I remember in the past when I had a botched install of windows 10 (not authenticated) and I tried to share this drive many times in many ways trying to get it to show up. I remember it taking like 20 minutes doing something when I shared a folder. then it would say "this folder can not be shared"
Now I feel fortunate that I can see the drive but my problem is I can not index the drive with "everything" search. It will not recognize drive X:
I am trying the work around but I think my networked drive needs to show up under "NETWORK" First

Today I added a laptop to my lan. I have a external drive connected to it. I created another user on that laptop the same as my other users and then I shared that external drive with that user name that is on 3 of my systems. I went into advanced under network properties under share and I gave my users permission to use that drive. FINALLY FINALLY FINALLY all my other shares also showed and now FINALLY I can get my files organized.
Really weird that adding a system to the network and sharing a external drive made it so all the computers in my house could see the drives I wanted to share. Boy that was sure crippling me when I could not get stuff to show up under network. I tried everything you can imaging to in attempts to get those drive shares to be recognized ! So many reboots of all my systems so much of sharing folders and drives and having it tell me " These drives can not be shared.

It could have been the process that zbook had me do to my Aleinware laptop. HERE
Suddenly notepad will not show up ?
so it was one of those actions that made my drive shares show up.
