Unable to access shared folders on 2009 Windows Home Server

I've just plugged in an old home server that hasn't been used in years, and am able to access the files while remoting into the server, but I cannot access them from my desktop computer itself over the network. When I attempt to open the shared folders on my desktop computer (which is running the latest build of Windows 10) I get the following error:

Unable to access shared folders on Windows Home Server-1.jpg

The server I am trying to access files from is pretty ancient, I just booted it up and its still running the same OS it had back in 2009:

Unable to access shared folders on Windows Home Server-2.jpg

Obviously I want to upgrade this to a newer version (I have a key for Windows server 2016 essentials) but installing that is not going to be easy and can be dealt with in another thread. For now is there any way for me to access the files currently on the server from my desktop computer over the network?

You might try enabling SMBv1 Client on your desktop.

Thanks for the advice, I just enabled it. I am able to see the following folders now but they aren't the right folders that I've been trying to access on the server, and weirdly enough I don't see these same folders when im accessing the server through remote desktop?

My folders on remote desktop are:

The next time you RDT into the server, double click on the top level folders. I believe you will find the shared folders within those top level folders.

Honestly I think my efforts here are more or less futile as this version of Windows Home Server is so old that it just needs to be replaced. I've decided I am going to wipe the server and install a new version of Windows Server 2016 Essentials.

    Thanks for the help though!
