Exclude specific network folders from a network search

    Hi,

I'm currently on Windows 10 Home 1909 and am wondering how do I exclude specific network folders when I'm frequently doing a search on a networked drive?

The drive isn't mapped, just added as a network location shortcut in "This PC".

    Thanks.

Hello hexapling, welcome to Ten Forums. Sorry for the late reply.

Searching This PC can be quite slow, especially when you have other drives connected to the computer. Windows does not have an "exclude folder" switch, when performing search. The best thing to do is to open the drive and search individual drive. That way your search is speeded up.

File Explorer remembers your search, so should you want to search multiple drives, or use same search multiple times, then you can just click on the search from the drop-down list, when you click on search box.
