    Resolving host


    Laptop HP envy Ver1903 is taking ages to connect to website (also takes ages using MS Edge) with the message 'Resolving Host' displayed in the bottom left hand corner. Sometimes it will connect after a while others it goes on forever. Rebooting sometimes solves the problem. Any help please?

    I think it must be a PC issue as my tablet/phone is OK. Is the same in Chrome and MS Edge.

    Try different DNS servers to see issue resolves.

    Thanks. I did a search before posting but nothing came up, then just after I click to post I saw a related thread at the bottom of the page so I followed that advice and re done the DNS rebooted and so far looking good.

I get this with Chrome (84) and I think also Opera which doesn't display it but is quite slow. Windows 10 version 1909. I use Google's DNS servers for both IPv4 and IPv6. I cleared the cache but that didn't help.

Version 1909 (OS Build 18363.657) I frequently encounter this. It was there for some time while writing this. What is it and can I avoid it?
I've been on the new Edge for just over a week now - Version 79.0.309.71 (Official build) (64-bit) and I'm constantly seeing a 'resolving host' message, usually followed by a 'hmmm, we can't seem to find that page' screen, before the destination...
My experience : Chrome + Windows 10 = endlessly resolving host. Firefox + Windows 10 = zero resolving host issues. I guess I wills stick with Firefox, but it would be nice to get Chrome working properly with W10. I have tried just about...
