    Change name of Ethernet connection


    How do I change the Name of my Ethernet Connection? Currently it has the same name as my WiFi 2.4Ghz connection ( have a dual band router so I also have a 5Ghz connection).

    I know how to rename my Local Area Connection:

    netsh interface set interface name="Local Area Connection 2" newname="Local Area Connection"

    this is different and I can't figure out how to change it.

    Hi I think you have to do it in the router settings log into the router and look for edit settings for the 2.4

    I see guess you don't need to do it in the router. I seen on other sites can be done in router. actually I miss read your opening post my bad. was thinking of the wireless
