I learned that from my son, who lives in Camp Hill, PA, yesterday. I think the union that represents the employees expressed their concerns about being around too many customers. Maybe people wight start using it for hand sanitizer.
Small world, I'm in the Enola Area. You probably already know that Cumberland Co. has 11cases and holding with no deaths, Yet. How difficult is it to set up video conferencing?-15_10_2.gif
Yea, when word got out about the closings you'd a thought it was a zombie apocalypse coming, the lines were out the door and down the street.

They already are. There's a few distilleries here in PA that use some of their production to make the sanitizer: Distilleries using high-proof alcohol to make hand sanitizer | NBC News

The gov caught a lot of flack about the closings and adjusted the closings list and the new one shows that retail beer and liquor stores can stay open but if you call them the phone rings but that's all, no one picks-up.

The new list of life-sustaining businesses is here. It'll open to a .pdf D/L, the above snip is in the middle of pg.3 my best guess is they'll open Monday.

Useful Dashboards for Tracking the Coronavirus. If you want/need to talk PM me.

To stay on topic the above is why I'm going to finally get involved with video conferencing. It's nuts out there.

Great links, thanks very much. My son is a truck driver for ABF and he’s definitely busy. Told me there’s been a dramatic reduction in traffic everywhere. Here in Virginia many but not all businesses are still open but elderly and high risk folks, like me, are pulling back. Doctors are beginning to cancel routine visits. Sadly gyms and health clubs are closed so lost of people are walking, jogging, running. I’m a gym rat so this is hard on me. Life had really changed. Never thought I’d be buying toilet paper in line. Be safe.

    You're welcome!
ABF, is his terminal out near I81 and the Harrisburg Pike? It's not my usual stomping grounds but I'm familiar with the area. This is approaching if not surpassed 9/11 in a reduction of everything, it's eerily quiet out there.

I'm 68 and celebrated my 4th year anniversary of my triple BP this past Tuesday so I'm very cognizant of my surroundings. I have that lawyers appt. Wednesday and that's why I'm trying to look ahead, I don't want to cancel and luckily we have been able to work it out with having a plain phone confab and maybe moving up to video.

What's your location, are you in an apartment? I have a 600' lane along my property that I get out an walk. I also like to railfan and have quite a few pull-off locations where nobody's ever around, and that leads me to exploring my 'ol fishin' spots so I get plenty of 'exercise'. My older brother just had a triple the end of February and he's walking his 300' driveway.
The gov. entities that offer guidance should be calling it physical distance instead of social distance, as long as one is maintaining a discrete no less than 6' ? distance you should be okay.

If you're more a "city folk" take walks around the neighborhood or find a local park that you can walk, check if the local mall is open and walk that, if it's an open strip mall walk the perimeter of the parking lot.
It'd be harder if you have to use public transportation, if their running, but if you're in your vehicle it's easy-peasy to get to a deserted spot to walk, walking is better than nuthin' and it gets you out of the house, and gets your heart pumpin' with a dose of fresh air!

The operative phrase is; Physical distance, as long as one is maintaining a discrete, no less than 6' ? distance you should be okay.

    Tip   Tip
Just make sure you let someone know what you're up to, and take your fully charged cell phone along, just in case of an emergency.

@Anak, His terminal is off 81 in Carlisle. I’m 74 and we own a house in Fairfax County Virginia. It’s an early 1950s residential area with lots of places to walk and pocket parks to explore. Except for COPD and asthma I’m in great health. I do lots of high intensity cardio at least 3 times a week and lift on alternate days. I sprained my rotator cuff two months ago so I’m in the middle of rehab. Unfortunately, corona has resulted in all my rehab appointments being cancelled, dang. With the gym closed I’m trying to work out at home but with bad knees running and jogging are out, so it’s fast walks and lots of stepping. Everything here is very quiet but lots of people walking. I just stared using Skype to stay in touch with friends and family a few days ago. I need to upgrade my web cam and had a difficult time ordering one this morning. It seems the work-at-home life has created a shortage but I did finally find the one i wanted. Life has really changed especially for you. I hope you’re keeping busy and engaged. If you need to talk or just play with Skype, PM me and I’ll give you my contact info. Be safe, Bob

Thanks Bob, I'll get together with you later via PM.

It's not a game changer but I'm a long time Firefox user (v1.5 - 2005) and I have found out that it won't work with FF unless I change my :useragent: to spoof skype, I won't go into the specifics of that decision by microsoft, just put my vote down in the "what a load of cr*p column".

We use Zoom at work. I don't use it at home.

Check this guide that was sent to me:

Thanks Chris, I have the D/L.
I had the phone meeting with my lawyer on Wednesday and have found out that his firm uses Zoom so I have that on my laptop now and I'm getting used to it. I didn't have a chance to use it with the meeting but maybe next time.

I'll be getting the papers in a week to 10days and if all looks okay the next step is how to get them signed? For a will in PA two witnesses are needed and there has been discussion about watching me sign them through a video session then I mail them back and the lawyer registers them, but there hasn't been any feedback from the PA Attorney General's office whether or not this would be acceptable.

My brother is in the same boat in Maryland and it looks like they would be allowed to watch him sign through the storm door but his lawyers haven't heard yet from MD's AG office. I mentioned this to my lawyer and he thinks PA might be willing to allow watchin' through the door.

Is there a quicker / better way, like a script to turn the camera and mic on before you use video-chat and then turn off when done?

Click on Start/Stop Video (in toolbar bottom left of screen) to toggle your camera on and off, and
    Mute/Unmute to toggle your microphone.

As for turning the webcam on/off completely I use this:

    Download Webcam On-Off 1.3

As for microphone I enable/ disable via Control Panel > Sound > Recording

I don't know of a script that turns both webcam and mic on/ off instantly.

That's how new I am at this, I forgot about those toggle buttons but I was hoping to find something to operate them via the OS. I'll be taking a look at webcam on-off and I've been exploring the cam an mic settings on my own but it's nice to have a tutorial.
Double I was searching for webcam and mic on-off and as I was looking I caught myself staring at the function keys and saw Fn keys for turning the cam and mic on or off, now the problem is the only one's that work is for the speaker mute, raise or lower. From what I see in the manual I have to check a hotkey setting in the bios so I'll be back later.

    Thanks Callender!
