    Why does an IP address keep changing?


    My printer IP address keeps changing. See attachment. The Port name is always 192.168.1.6 but the Printer IP keeps changing from .6 to .7 and I have to frequently reconfigure the port. Can I stop this from happening?

    It will pickup the ip from the routers DHCP server you can assign it on most routers to keep the same IP or increase the lease time as it may only be set to an hour

    Thanks Samuria. Looking in the router devices, the router IP is .7 and the printer IP is shown as .6 but I cannot see where to amend the printer. I'm using the Netgear Orbi but I understand you may not be familiar with that router.

    That was easy. Any idea why the printer was the only device I had this problem with? I have many network devices such as cameras, laptops, A/V, etc.
