Lose bluetooth connectivity very frequently after sleep mode

    Intel(R) Wireless Bluetooth(R) Driver 8/1/2019 version 21.40.0.1
    Win10 Pro 64 bit v. 10.0.18362
    Intel(R) Dual Band Wireless-AC 8265
    16 GIG Ram
Intel core i7-7700 CPU @3.6 GHz

Approximately every 5th or sixth time my desktop goes into sleep mode, (either automatically based on power option settings or by clicking "sleep"), the Bluetooth internet connection is lost. I do not have a wired connection. It can sometimes be corrected by putting the computer to sleep, but more usually a reboot is needed. The Bluetooth signal is strong, am only 5 feet from router.

How can I troubleshoot this? Thanks in advance for your interest and help. Regards. Michael.

Are you using the Wireless/Wi-Fi connection to the Router or the Bluetooth? Frequently Bluetooth is best for mice, keyboards, SmartPhones, Speakers, etc. I've not yet looked at nor dealt with a Router that offered Bluetooth.

Good point. I'm using wireless/Wi-Fi to connect to router. Can you suggest a troubleshooting plan to solve this Wi-Fi issue? Thanks.

Under Power Management, the dual band wireless AC-8265 is set to "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power" and to prevent "this device to wake the computer". Thought this might be helpful to you.

Since it is a desktop, I would choose the high performance power plan and turn off all power saving features. Meaning, don't let any device be turned off to save power. It always causes problems.

I'm still losing the wi-fi connection to the router. There are times that after losing the connection when the computer has been in sleep mode, I can see the available wi-fi connections in "Network Status" where I can then reconnect; and then more often than not the "Network Status" will show no connections available. I've run the troubleshooter and the last result was it "couldn't fix all of the issues found and there may be a problem with the driver for the wi-fi adapter". The adapter is the Intel Dual Band Wireless-AC 8265. The date of the driver is 8/26/19 and after looking for an update this is the lasted version.

The Power Management settings for the network adapter is "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power". The option "Allow this device to wake the computer" is not turned on. I tried turning off "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power" and I was losing a wi-fi connection more often so I turned it back on. The Power Option for the computer is set to High Performance. Are there any other devices where they have the option to be turned off to save power? I'll add this note only because it may have an impact on this issue. There are times that when the computer awakes from sleep mode, the screen's 1920*1080 resolution is lost and a much lower resolution appears, very large type face and images.

Thanks for your continued interest and will look forward to hearing any additional suggestions you may have. Michael

That statement suggests you have more problems than just the Wireless/Wi-Fi. Changing of the display resolution back to a default means something in Windows is the problem. The first thing I'd do as a diagnostic [and sometimes leave set that way] is to turn off all Sleep and Hibernation features in Settings/ Power or Control Panel/Power Options, run it awhile that way. If concerned about savings just turn the monitor itself off when not using it for a number of hours.

Not putting the computer into sleep mode has solved the screen resolution and lost Wi-Fi connection issues. Is there a way to troubleshoot the route cause of these anomalies? Thanks once again. Regards.
