    Server Problem

I'm running W10 on my laptop and a couple of times a week for a while now when I switch it on and open a browser and click on one of my bookmarks I get a 'Server not found' page. I found that refreshing the page would put it right at first but that solution eventually stopped working. I would then re-start the laptop and that also worked for a while before also failing. I then started switching it off and back on again. Again it was a short term solution. It then came down to switching the router off and on to get it to work. Again it worked for only a short time.
I have run scans with Malware Bytes, SuperAntiSpyware, Ccleaner and Defender with nothing found.
I have also (when this first started) restored to an earlier date, with no effect.
I ran the internet connection troubleshooter, also no joy.

I also went into "Device Manager" and looked for "Network Adaptors", from there I found the "Network Wireless Adaptor". From there I right clicked on this and found an option to "Update this software/driver". Still the same!
I've also reset the TCP/IP stack but it's still the same.

    I also found this site

I followed all the steps in order but it has made no difference.

Thinking I might be trying to get up and running too soon after booting up I take my time but to no avail.

Something I have noticed is the network icon changes to a sort of globe when the laptop will not connect.

Also on one of the occasions when I couldn't connect I tried an Ethernet cable from the router to the laptop. Immediate success. Unfortunately this is not a feasible solution.

Finally I bit the bullet and reset the laptop back to factory settings (I do have a backup but I haven't used it yet) and started from afresh.
    The problem persists!
I am now out of ideas!

I'm working on a Notebook now with a problem using the built-in Wireless/Wi-Fi adapter although the Ethernet cable works fine. I tried a couple different USB Wireless dongles that did work, just have to contact the owner as what he wants. Basically the built-in adapter is bad and being an older machine not sure a correct replacement can be found.

Thanks for that Berton. This machine is about seven years old and isn't used for anything but surfing the net now, so now that I have an idea of the problem I'll just use my tablet or phone until I get a new laptop.
    Thanks again.
