Hello Hello ! Wifi Hotspot problem Very frustrating !

I have been working on this for weeks and have Googled it to death. I have tried all of the recommended fixes with no results including all of the recommendations from the Microsoft forums. What do I have going on? I lost the ability to connect my mobile devices (smart phones) to my laptop's (Dell) hotspot. At one point it was working fine, then it seemed to go intermittent, now no connection at all.

Here what happens: I am able to start the laptop hotspot just fine, turns on normally. On both of my phones, the laptop shows up in the list of connections, but neither will connect. (Used to just fine)

So I pulled out my Toshiba laptop (windows 10), turn on the hotspot, both phones immediately connect.

There must be some setting or program on the Dell causing this. Remember, I have tried so many of the recommended fixes. I need help from someone that knows the hotspot very well.

Can the Toshiba detect and connect to the hotspot of the problem one?

What do the phones tell you as they fail to connect?

Are the phones using the correct security key?

You might get additional useful info by running this on the Toshiba.

Similar experience a while ago, came across what appeared to be a ludicrously impossible solution ... tried it. Bingo!!

Just change the name of your wi-fi hotspot. Mine was set to "Firstname", changed it to "LastName" ... Voila!!
