Now when I ry to open a .psp file ...
You seem to have lost the file association. Right click on a .psp file, Open with, More apps, then
select what you want if it's in the list, or
Look for another app on this PC.

You also mention permissions. Are these problems happening in particular folders? If so, where?

You also mention OneDrive. I know nothing about that. See
OneDrive - Uninstall in Windows 10

    Denis /psp thumbnails now

One Drive -Having trouble trying to move my Files to another location-pspthumbnailsnotshowing.jpg

Thanks Denis, at least now I am able to see the thumbnqil is there and I can click it and open it in my Paint Shop Pro program. So it is back to the way that it was befiore it went really bad,

But as you can see, it just shows the square thumbnail with nothing in it except for the PSP icon.

I had a little thing I always used to download called PSP Thumbnail Handler. But now when I download and install it, it isnt doing anything any longer. Do you know anything about how to get it to show up in the thumbnails like my other thumbnails do?

If I can't fix this, I will have to click on hundreds of these thumbnails individually, and change each one to a different file format.

Hi, I use OneDrive all the time. In fact, for me, I find it to be an extremely valuable tool. Place a file or folder there and have it available to whatever device is attached to that account. For me, when I'm in school I use my laptop to take notes and do my work. When finished I drop those files in OneDrive. When I get home, no need to grab my laptop, just get on my desktop and go to OneDrive to retrieve my work. One drive has pretty much put thumb drives out of work for me.

Anyway this post might be of use if you want to turn off OneDrive and unlink from PC - Disable New One Drive "Save this file" Pop Up Window

    Good luck.

    Claudia,

In File explorer, click on the View menu then select Extra large icons, Large icons or Medium-sized icons.

There is another File explorer setting that I have never had to fiddle with but which is probably relevent to your situation. In File explorer, click on the View menu then look at the right-hand end and click on Options and within Options choose the View tab.
    - I have cleared the checkbox for Always show icons, never thumbnails
    - I have set the checkbox for Display file icon on thumbnails
You probably need to do the same.

Where were you trying to save? You cannot use, for example, the root of the C:\ drive itself
If the other issues have been resolved, would you explain where you were trying to save things?

Where iI was trying to save things

    Denis,

I was just saving thing by clicking on THIS PC and then clicking on the C Drive.

I finally got all my stuff moved while turning One Drive off, or unlinking it.

This morning after doing that, I went and uninstalled One Drive completely,

I can now suddenly see all my ,psp files as normal again. I can even see the thumbnails.

The only thing I am having trouble with now still is my Word 2003 program. It keeps giving me a runtime error. I think I am going to try completely reinstalling it, now that the OneDrive is uninstalled, It could have been sort of sabatpogoimng my Word Program to get me to buy their 365 Program because it kept prompting me to do that, and this has never happened to my Word 2003 program before. So maybe now if I just try reinstalling it, it might work again.

Also, it could have been the Norton program they automatically installed onto my computer. I know when I was installing a certain Html Editor program and Norton popped up saying it removed part of it "because it might be unsafe". So I installed a different program for protection instead, because this Norton version seems to just go around deleting things from normal programs that way. And it may have done the same thing with my Word 2003 program, it didn't even ask me, it told me afterwards that it deleted it. Now that I think about it, that wold explain why when I would install my Word 2003 program, initially it worked fine but then it would soon after that start having major probelems working.

It is a relief getting the OneDrive off my computer. I dont know how many files I may have lost because of all this but at least I came out with most of my stuff I hope. Some of my folders I discovered were still there, but empty.

    Claudia,

You can still go online to Microsoft OneDrive - Access files anywhere. Create docs with free Office Online. to see files that are still kept online. You can remove them once you have checked that you have your own copies.

I don't know about Norton. Many computer makers include Norton/McAfee/etc on new computers and the first job to do on a new computer is remove it. Windows defender is perfectly satisfactory. No third-party application is required.
    - Many antimalware utilities leave behind debris that can have unpredictable effects.
    - They used to tell you on their website whether or not an additional 'Removal tool' was required.
    - The Norton tool is at Download and run the Norton Remove and Reinstall tool but you have to make sure you select the Remove option or it will want to reinstall afterwards.

About Word 2003. Many computer makers also inlude a free trial of Office 365 and I think that is what you are seeing indications of. I suggest you uninstall Office completely including your Word 2003 then just install your Word 2003 on its own.
Uninstall Office from a PC - Office Support
Manually uninstall Office, Apps - OfficeSupport
You can also look for Word 2003 guidance in the TenForums Office section
