    Network Printer Off Line

BUFFALO AirStation AC1300 / N900 Gigabit Dual Band Wireless Router - WZR-1 D1800H is eight years old so I decided to do a upgrade. Purchased a Netgear Nighthawk X6 R8000. Everything seems to work fine except it has set my network 5110cn printer to offline. I Have gone thru everything I can think of but find nothing that fixes it. It is showing in the printers and scanners but shows as offline. Gonna be something simple that I have forgot but I 0nly do router changes every 5 years or so which keeps my abilities at a minimum. Any suggestions on what to look at? Windows 10 ver 1909

    Hi anaron.

When you swapped routers were they both using the same IP range, like 192.168.0.1?

Any chance you set Printer to static IP Address?

Is your printer, on its control panel, showing connected? Some have an antenna icon or an LED to indicate connected?

Have you tried uninstalling printer and re-installing? Maybe before doing that try adding printer and seeing if WIndows sees it on network?

Ken, both are in the same ip range. Printer is set to DHCP automatic. Have no connection icon on the display Added printer first to no avail. Have completely uninstalled printer and drivers numerous times but even the install, cannot find the printer. I can install the driver then add the printer and it is listed under Printers and Scanners.

Had to do a windows update just now. Printer is no longer showing as offline but an attempt to print gets Error - Printing.

    Progress.

I would open up printer and see if some old print jobs are still present.

    I would then reset spooler.

Jacee, I have reset the printer several times to no avail.
Ken, clearing spooler done nothing. Finally found a cable and hooked printer up to usb - works fine so at least I have a printer until this is resolved.

Can any device get to this printer, I assume wirelessly?

Is this an HP printer and are you using HP supplies?

It is a Dell 5110cn printer and is not wireless. The old router had no issues with this printer or the printer supplies.
Printer is somewhere around 15 years old (still works great and at low cost with almost no issues ever). It simply may be to old to work with the new generation routers.

Ken, I appreciate the help. Seems like you are always around to assist when I need help!

Thanks Jacee! Worked like a charm! Last time I will depend on Windows update to update my drivers!
