Hi All, wifi and ethernet ip

    Good day to all,

i'm just new here and i'm just a newbie in network administration.

i have this question on our network.

when i connect to one of our access point, it did give me an IP address..

    Wifi IP - 10.0.36.65(Preferred)

while if i connect to an ethernet lan, it did give me an IP address..

    Lan IP - 192.168.42.166

"My question is why do i get different IP address from our Wifi IP and Lan IP..."

sorry for the question i just want to understand why won't it give me a same IP address..

Thank you for all the guys that will answer my question..

Your PC is set up to get its IP address from a DHCP server which allocates an IP address from a pool of available addresses. The Wifi access point and your LAN each has its own DHCP server, and each uses a different range of IP addresses.
