Wow, I'll have to look at that too, but IMHO, if the IP's had changed, you shouldn't even get to a logon request trying to go to that machine...

I was trying to access a printer connected to laptop B, while on machine "A"
In file manager, accessing laptop"B" from laptop A, I entered my Microsoft account (instead of actual username, password) when prompted for "Network Credentials" and that connected me to the other laptop and its shared files. I did this for laptop "C" also.
I then used the "add printer" dialog on laptop "A" to add in a printer that is connected to the laptop "B" via USB port.
Now I can access everything and print to this shared printer.
All along laptops "B" and "C" could access each others files and these were all 3 upgraded to Windows 10 at the same time.
Seems like I should not have to create a "new" user as martinr did?? Cannot I just change the network credential on "B" and "C" to be the actual username and password??????
Again, all is working for now, but was convoluted to setup.
Hi How I solved this issue when connecting my Blackberry Playbook to my laptop. On Playbook enable Development Mode in Security section. Note the development address, i/e \\169.254.0.2\. You will need to use the slash signs as shown.
In Windows 10 type, run, into Search the web and Windows box, bottom left hand side. This will open a list, click onto top Run desktop app. A box will open, type in your development number, include slashes and dots, as shown above.
This opened my Blackberry on my laptop but asked for my credentials. Tried variations of my password to no avail. Then inspiration, go to storage and sharing on Playbook, obviously enable File Sharing and Wi Fi Sharing, but and here is the answer, Turn off Password protect. Then yeahhhhhhhhhhh all my Playbook files opened on my laptop and I was able to transfer files back and forth. Good luck....................................... gnilwoc
Hi,I've still got the same issue. I've tried all the steps that are mentioned in this thread. I'm trying to access a shared folder on our local server (LAN). Tried adding two accounts in the server just to try logging in. But didnt work at all.Tried adding the credentials in Windows Credentials MgrSet the IP addressremoved the 'logging in with the email id' feature (set a normal login a/c) - as mentioned aboveI'm using an Acer One 10 running Win 10 Home. Please help.
I know its probably simple but check that the date and time is set correctly. This can be the cause of loads of niggling issues.
I have the same issue. It's only been a problem since I installed the 1607 version of Win 10. Previously (on Win 10 1511) all worked fine.
In explorer I can see the computer on which the shared drive is located, but when I click on the name I get the dreaded "Enter network credentials" pop-up window.
Computer A is a desktop PC, which has a shared partition "Data on A960".
Computer B is a laptop PC, which has a shard partition "Data on T400".
Computer A can see and access the share on computer B, however computer B cannot do likewise.
The strange thing is that computer A also hosts a shared printer and computer B can print to the printer without any issues, so it's unlikely to be related to any issues with IP addresses (I assume!).
Both PCs have a admin-level user account, with no password, and the accounts are not linked to any online or external Microsoft accounts. I've tried entering the host and username of each PC when attempting to log-in via the Network credentials pop-up window, with no luck.
Does anyone have any suggestions as to what I can try next?
Cheers,
Mike.
