    MAC Address communication problems

    Hello,
I don't know where to go with the problem and I can't find anything on the Internet.
I often work with mikrotik devices and need to communicate with them via MAC address. This option has not been working for about 14 days. I checked other programs and it seems that the problem is in windows. Windows cannot find neighboring MAC addresses and cannot communicate with them when I enter them manually, neither wifi nor wired connection works. Has anyone encountered this problem?

    Windows version: 1809 build 17763.973

    Thank you.

How are you trying to communicate? ARP?

Please see the following for further information: Manual:IP/Neighbor discovery - MikroTik Wiki

Also, I really recommend to search for "<product> wiki" or "<product> documentation" etc. I have never heard of this software or hardware but a simple Google-search gave me answers that probably will solve your issue. Also please note: You need to translate MAC-addresses into IP-addresses using ARP, maybe these requests are blocked by something? Firewall? Antivirus?

Edit: What exact command are you using to try to communicate with devices? Give us as much information as you can.

Well, I'll try it from another side. I know the Wiki for Mikrotik devices and I know that there is no problem. The problem is somewhere in windows or network card.

I am trying to verify the mac address of the device through wireshark. On a colleague's PC, it shows everything as it should. on my PC, I don't get the mac address if the device is not running DHCP. This is the same for both wired and wireless connections.

I also need to use the mac telnet protocol and it does not work.

Any idea whether it is possible to limit detection of mac addresses to windows? Where could something be blocked?
