    Ah, okay, now I get it. I have setup both PCs using an offline local account. I do not want to be logged into Microsoft all the time.

    Example here: Confirmed: Windows 10 Setup Now Prevents Local Account Creation

    Apps like Skype, Cortana, etc. are either disabled or not logged into.

    No problem copying to either desktop folder, but the view of my other laptop's desktop from this Thinkpad does not show all the folders on it. That's 'cos I changed the location of the desktop on that laptop in some manner a long time ago..

    This problem has me pulling my hair out and I don't have much hair left to begin with.

    At least I have a workaround by copying to \\LENOVOM83-WIN10\Users\username\Desktop

    It takes longer having to open all the sub-folders but it works.

    I'll keep Googling to see if I can find anything new.

    @nikki605
    I, too am extremely frustrated with this mess!! At first I was able to share files from my main computer to my second computer....then I couldn't! Don't have a clue what changed. I got so fed up, I finally zipped the files I want to share and sent them to my e-mail. That worked just fine

    Can't Copy Files To Root Folder

    I will sometimes copy to an external HDD or thumb drive. Stupid when we should be able to network easily between devices connected to our own router.

    Here is exactly my problem: https://social.technet.microsoft.com...10itprogeneral
