No Network Entry in File Manager (Solved)
We shall skip the Windows 10 total crash disaster and try to finish the install of an entirely new copy, which has fixed some problems that likely had existed for some time and led to the failure of my copy of Windows..
I just scanned a document for my wife, and wanted to send it to her computer, only to discover that there is no Network entry in File Manager, so I can not access her computer. I then went to her computer, clicked on Network, chose my computer, and was shown the entries on my computer.
I then did the usual search for assistance on-line, did make some of the suggested changes, rebooted, still no File Manager Entry. If you have spare such entry, please send it to me; otherwise, instructions on how to restore Network to File Manager would be appreciated.

Finally found an icon to open the navigation panel, where I found the "missing' Network entry. Clicking on that, instead of finding the two computers, sends the file manager into paroxysms with the green bar at the top creeping from left to right. There may be a clue; My wife's computer finds mine, and shows the only entry to be Users. Time to change that to see what happens.

Having seen that "El Wife" (in New Mexican mangled Spanish) could see my computer, that told me that my Network was properly setup. I had surmised, that the only entry on my computer was the default User, which was why, when I clicked on John-PC1, nothing happened; this was verified as soon as I added Downloads.
There was still a mystifying problem: I added Documents, but no matter what I did, it did not show up in John-PC1, even after a restart. I finally checked the network Sharing/Network Path, which started with Users, which seemed odd to me, so I went to John-PC, where the path was \\John-PC\Documents, much shorter than on my computer.
I returned to my machine, to find that after at least a half-hour, possibly more, in trying to get Documents to appear in Network/John-PC1, it was finally there with a Network Path \\John-PC1\Documents. While I doubt that I will ever know how nor why the path finally changed so that Documents are now accessible from John-PC.
(John-PC was mine, so when I gave it to PJ and set up a new computer for me, the easiest thing to do was to name it John-PC1.)
difficilis res soluta est
