Spent countless hours updating every possible + unlikely driver, did not help!

The affected computer HP Elitebook 840 G3, but Mobile Partner performed problemless then in my older backup-only G2 running 1803 (that G2 is now running 1903 loaded from ISO file on USB stick)
    .
Also many times in this G3 not only was it being stupidly slow and many programs not starting, etc., but more importantly the screen would dim and system freeze if left idling before or instead of pre-set sleep time, error report showing hangup. Easily handled with on/off switch forced shutdown and re-start. Searched Internet and found that such freezes were a 1909 issue. Then discovered I could easily revert to 1903 using Update History and removing 1909 "Feature Update".

Now everything works! (in both HPs)

Well, even in 1903, on both HP 840's (G2 & G3) around every 3 (or more) days I have to uninstall and re-install Mobile Partner. Actually I don't HAVE to, but I like having the System Tray Internet icon setup to work; I can instead click directly on the Mobile Partner window .... but like the tray system, visible control and check.

I always thought there was some kind of out-of-synch software issue, and today it happened exactly when I turned the PC on and it messed up the Mobile Partner connection at the same time Windows was trying to download a Defender Update BEFORE I manually turned on Mobile Partner.

My trial solution was to change the Active Hours so (hopefully) Windows will not look for updates before I turn on the Internet connection (Mobile Partner).

Will see if it helps ....

    Well, the above didn't work.

But today when it failed again for the umpteenth time, I finally saw that Windows (now back to 1903) didnpt recognize network Google-researched that, found and did this:

    Admin:
    Device Manager /Network adapters/ Properties/ Power Management
UNCHECK: "Allow computer to turn off this device" !

Applied that to system in failed state, restarted and THIS time it worked. Every other time, after failure I either uninstall and re-install Mobile Partner and clean Registry OR use one (of many) Restore Points which restore to functioning state (most do not restore to functioning Mobile Partner setup).

Will post if this works long-term ....

The above "fix" often works but not always, maybe 80% of the time. However the Cellular Internet is really bad in the last times, so maybe that is also a factor. Anyway, some improvement in easily and quickly restoring this malfunction (without System Restore or uninstall/re-install) is better than no improvement.

Will post if there is any change.

    FIXED! (was Windows problem)

Have now installed 2004 in both my HP 840s: G2 which had 1903 took 6 hrs. total to download and install using Mobile Partner USB stick; G3 which had 1909 was clean install from local HP Repair place).

Both now running Mobile Partner with no issues.

Conclusion: as the evidence previously indicated to me, problem was WINDOWS and not Mobile Partner. 2004 running smoothly overall. Obviously some tweaks by MS fixed issue since no change was made to Mobile Partner.

confirming: installing 2004 in both laptops, one a normal "Update", the other a Clean Install, FIXED the problem > ZERO issues running, turning on/off or coming out of sleep

simply click on/off "Let Windows keep me connected" box
