Checked printer sharing settings on system where printer is attached, and are as you suggested.

    Function discovery stuff all on.

After rechecking printer sharing settings I tried turning it off then back on.

Now have access to printer from laptop (sys2).
Checked Function Discover setting on my new tablet, not turned on. Turned on now I see sys1,2 and 3 on sys3.

I still cannot access my laptop from tablet. "Access denied" error.
Again I can't figure out how to give access to "the system" ie the whole laptop not just a folder or file.
And when you go into your Network and Sharing Center and click on the left where it says-Change advanced sharing settings, you've done this already? Make sure Private settings have Turn on Network Discovery and below that Turn on file and print sharing.
Then in Guest or Public, you've done the same thing?
And in All Networks, Turn off password protection sharing?
These are steps you've done already?

Well, sounds like progress. So the printer problem is now solved?

My understanding is that Windows wants us to share files, folders, and devices. Not entire systems. Not even entire partitions (although that can be done in settings).
So you may have to accept the access you can get, or go advanced and start a new thread to ask the question of "How do I share my entire device?"

You have to enable administrative shares on all the PCs (pretty sure they are disabled in current w10 versions). Then you would be able to access any drive from any computer using an administrator account.

    Hi Greg
    Review this tutorial here:
Share Files and Folders Over a Network in Windows 10

It will tell you everything you need to know about sharing on a network. Skip down to the last 2 options to see the part about giving advanced permissions.
