Connecting USB to Router to share file's

I would like to occasionally share file's like TV shows on my home network .

I don't need a Nas as I do this very infrequently.

My router does NOT have a USB port.

Is it possible to connect a USB to my router using a USB to Ethernet adapter and then see those files on my network?

    TIA Bart

You are looking at this backwards. A USB Ethernet adapter plugs into a USB port on a computer to provide an Ethernet port. It does NOT convert an Ethernet port into a USB port.

Bart, let me ask a question, and feel free to tell me if I am misunderstanding the situation:

Why not simply plug the USB device into your computer and share it from the computer? This would effectively be the same thing that would be accomplished by sharing a USB device from a router that has a USB port.

Thanks for that explanation as I didn't know that was the case about the adaptor.

    My situation is this.

Say I have downloaded a TV show or movie for my little one and I want to be able to play this via either the firestick in the front room or an android device in the bedroom etc I didn't want to have to copy the file to a USB and move it around the house.
In the same way I don't think keeping a laptop on and sharing the files would be a viable solution.

    Hope this makes sense

If you don't want to physically move a USB stick to a device, that means that you are going to need to share it from somewhere. Since you also don't want to leave a computer on, and we know that your router does not have a USB port, we're quickly eliminating possibilities. Since you also don't have a NAS device, there's really only one more option that's coming to mind at this point:

What about sharing the videos from a cloud share such as OneDrive or some other similar service?

Simply create a folder that you share and create a shortcut to that link on the Android device. As for the firestick device, I don't have experience with that so I don't know if it can access a cloud share or not.

Simple: because the computer may not always be on where the router is. Sure you could setup a WOL but...

As for the OP's question - if the router doesn't have a USB port for sharing files, that function isn't supported in the router's settings. Been there, done that. In fact, my Linksys Mesh Wi-Fi Router actually has a USB port, but it's there for show at the moment as Linksys hasn't decided to support USB file sharing off the router yet

I managed to find a link online that showed me how to link my Google drive to Kodi so I can upload my stuff to my drive and then stream it via Kodi on either android devices and firesticks too.
