    I've used one of these for file sharing while traveling:

    You could also set up a mini computer, such as Raspberry Pi, as file server. I used to use one as a media client before I got a smart TV with Plex client built in:

    Andrew, just FYI....

    Sometimes the OP either can't find the Mark Solved or never knew they had to do it themselves. It's common practice here (TF) if that occurs, you can simply "report" his post and ask for an Admin to mark it solved. It's not a "bad" report, just a notification to staff.

    If it doesn't show in the Phone skin format for you to do, report yourself (weird, I know), and ask to have it marked solved.

    Using the Cloud looks like a great solution for the OPer and anyone fortunate enough to have uncapped bandwidth available. Unfortunately the Canadian Telecom companies have not followed through very well with the CRTC direction to make the internet more accessible for Rural residents.

    I live in a rural area where internet service is not very good and still quite expensive. If I were looking to accomplish a similar task of file sharing as the OPer, I have proposed a solution more suited to a Wireless Internet user with limited bandwidth. I have opened a new thread here;
