Can't type networkcode in wifi window

Recently I have a problem with my laptop an asus N56V. For some reason it lost the wifi password of my local area network and urges me to type the password in the wifi start window. Nothing happens when I type the code with my key board. The key board works fine in all other applications.
    I use windows 10 version 1809.

Sometimes toggling "Airplane" mode off and on resets the Wi-Fi app. Try that. And (not to state the obvious) do make sure have the correct password.

Hello Samuria, My wifi network does not have a profile name. The wifi network on my desktop computers just work fine without the profile name

    Hi Samuria,
The result is a network problem, but I think it is not the cause I plugged in an extra wifi adapter and switched the other off. Same problem. If I try to connect to neighboring networks also the same problem. Only the ethernet cable provides connection.

So how do you identify your Wi-Fi network? You did say this was a Wi-Fi issue.

I have found a workaround by starting in safe mode with network support. Here a could type the password. In normal mode it just connects to wifi. Of course this is not the final solution, when I have to connect to a different network
