Static DNS with DHCP in Windows 10

    I just noticed you can do it direct in settings.

    Go to Settings > Network and Internet > Wi-Fi and select "Manage known networks"

    Select the SSID of your network, then Properties and click "Edit" under IP Settings and set it to "Manual"

    You can then set DNS for just your work Wi-Fi SSID.

    Okay, this looks awesome, but what happens if I leave the IP information blank? I mean, I'm about to find out, but I'm curious.

    I think if you don't specify an IP it will use DHCP so you'll get assigned one.

    Sadly, this isn't working. While it says the correct DNS under Manual, under the properties of the connection it's still giving the wrong one.

    Please see attached...

    And yes, I did shut down and then restart to verify that it didn't update.
