    Update:

Windows 10 USB – Do a full reinstall from a USB. Still no internet.

ASUS - I submitted a supported ticket to ASUS/ No response yet. I checked ASUS web site – no windows 10 network drivers

Realtek - Checked Realtek web site – no windows 10 network drivers

NIC - I am still trying to find a Windows 10 certified PCIe card to see if that might work.

USB3 Ethernet- Still looking for Windows 10 certified USB3-to-Etlernet adaptor, to see if that works

WIFI - Another thought I had is wf-fi. Thought I might get an internet connection that way. The pc sees the SSID on the router, and can connect, but like the NIC, no internet capability, I check the driver- which are made by Ralink Technology. I goggled for Windows 10 driver and found a link here which has updated drivers: Ralink 802.11n Wireless LAN Card Drivers Download for Windows 10, 8.1, 7, Vista, XP .. but is one of those malware sites. I cannot find a direct website for Ralink.

TXT files - I captured the info Ztruker requested, but I don’t think its relevant now that we know is the drivers.

Can't seem to find a Ralink website either, but found Intel site has some Ralink downloads.

Media Tech bought Ralink. Perhaps you can find something from them? There's a contact button in this page.

Did you get a CD with an ethernet driver which came with your PC?
If so, you should try installing that ethernet driver. Run the ethernet driver install setup with permissions for Windows 7.

Before doing that you should also tell Windows 10 not to automatically update drivers:

    winkey + r
    sysdm.cpl
    Hardware
device installation settings .. and set it to not install drivers automatically. A reboot might help too.

I installed Windows 10 on my old Asus P6T Deluxe V2 and have had to do this in Windows 10 which offers the wrong ethernet driver out of the box and via updates.
The wrong ethernet drivers have been offered (by Windows) for the Asus P6T Deluxe V2 motherboard since Windows 8!

If you know what motherboard is included in your PC, then find or download the ORIGINAL ethernet driver from your CD or Asus, and install that (with permissions for Windows 7).

This should actually be quite easy once you have the old original ethernet driver, for your PC/motherboard.

Then setup your connection again and it should be OK.

Try changing the network to Private, some members have had success after that change.

If that doesn't help, try a refresh

You can download the Win10 ISO and create the install media for the refresh using the Media Creation tool from MS.

Thanks. I grabbed a copy but I now see these are older 2011 drivers, Version 3. The ASUS already has Version 5. But I did notice the Intel reference to WHQL . .went back to ASUS site to download a files with no description , but with a title called "Management Engine Interface V15.200.1045.0 for Windows 10 64bit (WHQL)." I will try that.

Thanks for that. I sent them a note to ask if they have any WIndows 10 drivers.

Good thought but unfortunately no. They did not want to spend the extra 10 cents per machine to supply media. I asked at the time and offered to pay, but no dice. I think all they said was there was an image on a Window 8.0 partition (which I would lose when upgrading to WIn 8.1 - so its long gone. At the time I made a Windows 8 USB from an ISO file. Not sure if I can extract anything from there.

Its already Private. But on that note, one thing that bothers me is when I look at Network Connctions, I see it picked up and old setting... that "RG24" is something I set up when I first got the ASUS. I tried deleting it but it keeps on coming back:

Already re-installed Windows 10. Granted I chose to keep user setting and files (for moms benefit) whereas normally I would do a clean install. But I don think that has anything to do with old vs new network dirvers.

Yes thanks, that's what I used.

    Next steps:
-try the WHQL exe from ASUS
-await response for MediaTech for updated Wi-Fi drivers
    -await response for ASUS support
-write to RealTek re Win 10 netword cars drivers
-search for Win 10 USB3-Ethernet adaptor
-search for Win 10 network card

Just heard back from ASUS Support:
Sorry ,the lastest drive for win10 has not been released yet .

In this situation, you can to revert back to the previous OS or build now.
    Press F9 during bootup.
Troubleshoot>Advanced options>Go back to the previous build
Well, at least they are aware.

Going back to previous builds will not get me too far as I have reinstalled Windows 10 too often, I no longer see an option to revert back to WIn 8.1 which I saw after the first attempt. I assume 'build now' means 'build new' but I already did that.

At this stage, locating a Win 10 USB3 network card , or a Win 10 Wif-Fi driver, seems like the cleanest approach.

Yeah, ASUS support...I am not surprised at that one... Wonder if MediaTech will even respond at all...

This looks odd to me. I'm sure @Ztruker will know the answer to this:

    Ethernet adapter Ethernet:

    Connection-specific DNS Suffix . :
    Description . . . . . . . . . . . : Realtek PCIe GBE Family Controller
    Physical Address. . . . . . . . . : D8-50-E6-C2-B8-4E

(Usually that "lease" is for a 24-hr block?)

At any rate, it is certainly quite possible to install W7/W8 drivers using the compatibility feature, and others have had success doing just that, on a number of drivers, but I can't say in your case specifically.

Let's see what @Ztruker has to say.

Found this a while back, it might be worth checking out, there is a fix involving a reg edit:

Users might have come across an issue after Windows 10 upgrade from Windows 8.1, wherein the wireless networks are not available.

It occurs even when the wireless network adapter functions properly as well as after restarting and reinstalling the wireless network adapter driver several times.

The issue might also prevent the wired Ethernet connection from functioning properly.
