I set my IPv4 dns to 1.0.0.1 and 1.1.1.1 and neither had any real affect on the issue, I'm wondering if it is a network issue as my ping is very high if I am able to play so maybe that is something to take into consideration.
Not surprised in the least since your internet was already working.

Anyway did you do any recent BIOS updates or AGESA updates? Another user with an AMD system had the same issue with Origin - Origin client just... won't open suddenly.

Eventually solved it by installing / reinstalling the C++ runtime files - The latest supported Visual C++ downloads. Start with 2017/2019. Make sure you get the files for your OS - 32 or 64-bit.

    1. I was able to play steam fine on a laptop I had before
    2. I tried the steps I hadn't tried before and none came out positive.
    3. My ping test showed 20ms and speed test showed 100mbps (while a few people are on the network)

    Hi again.

    Need clarification -

Do you currently have another system to test Steam and Origin with? If so, what is the result?

    If not...

Did you try the steps one-by-one here:

    https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/...nection-issues

Did you try what Syngus21 suggested?

    Let us know.

I'm moving on cause it's rather obvious the OP is chasing a rabbit hole that doesn't exist - internet connection issues. If the OP can connect to the internet, then there are no internet issues and thus going down said route is chasing an issue that doesn't exist. Again, we saw this with changing the DNS server - nothing changed!!!

Anyway I posted a suggestion that seems to have been ignored so moving on.

Good luck with the rabbit hole.

ok, I tried the reinstallation of the c++ files and that had no effect. I am afraid I do not have a computer to test steam or origin on. I also tried the step by step instructions but none of those worked.

    I like rabbits!

    @Jimmyjam -

    Three options:

    1) Try your system at at an alternate location that has different network equipment. Only if you have a laptop.
    2) Backup your computer to make a bootable, verified, restorable image - and do a clean install of W10 v1909. Install Steam and game first and test. No Origin or other software.

    See here:

    Clean Install Windows 10

    3) Perhaps a friend can bring a laptop over your place and load Steam, the game and test, instead?

    Thoughts?

Nope, that didn't seem to work. It's very odd as I only lose connection once I start searching for a game or while I am in one.
