I will try the dns now, then try re-install steam and yes I just have the stock windows AV and FW. It's very odd as sometimes I am able to play for a few minutes (with high ping at that) then the connection is lost again.

If the DNS config works, please change it back to where it was, as it is just a test.

    Some questions -

Is this only with Steam and Origin?
Is your slow connection lost and/or slow at other times?
How are you connected to the router? Wired or wireless?
Is your modem/router a combo or discrete components?

We might need to reset your network connection.

I set my IPv4 dns to 1.0.0.1 and 1.1.1.1 and neither had any real affect on the issue, I'm wondering if it is a network issue as my ping is very high if I am able to play so maybe that is something to take into consideration.

1 . Those are the only two game platforms I have tried, I can try another if you like.
    2. No, my connection is fast most of the time.
    3. Wirelessly
    4. I'm not sure really, if you mean are they from the same ISP then yes but I'm not the one who is in charge of that sorta thing.

    Hmm...

    Let me clarify -

Does your setup consist of a modem and a router or only one device?

    OK. Good.

I am assuming that the DNS has been set back to the original configuration.

Power off the computer (shutdown), router and modem. Wait 10 seconds.
Then power on the modem (wait until initialized), then router (wait until initialized), then the computer and test again.

    If that doesn't work...

Follow each step in this W10 document and check your system after each step. Go slow...

Post back on your progress. Thanks.

Right, I reset the router and modem and my game ran fine for a while and it runs well, the problem is I keep disconnecting now. - edit, the connection is still awful and is the same as before.

    1) Do you another computer to test Steam and Origin in terms of the connection?
    2) If not, have you tried the steps in the link posted above?

I want to rule out the datacom hardware if possible.

Have you done a simple PING test to check on latency?
