    I am unable to try right now but I tried after the update and with the firewall off after the update and had the same result
    When did the games on Steam and Origin stop working?

    Any new software? If not, try the DNS change as @Samuria suggested. It can always be changed back.

    Change IPv4 and IPv6 DNS Server Address in Windows

    Let us know. Thanks.

    The issues started when I built the pc a few weeks ago but I only got around to dealing with them now. I also factory reset it earlier so I don’t think it is something I have done to cause the issue.

    Hi again...

    Try the DNS change.

    If it doesn't help, change it back to the original settings and cleanly uninstall and reinstall the Steam Client, followed by a reboot.
    Then check the game again.

    Seems like a game server based IP issue.

    It's interesting that both Steam and Origin are affected.

    @Samuria is that dangerous at all?
    You don't need to change you DNS server, and I don't think you should. Add that it may not even solve the issue.

    I have tried turning off my firewall and turning of the firewall on my router but I am unsure of what to do. I am running windows 10 64 bit version 18363.418 - any suggestions?
    Look to Windows' Firewall.... Control panel, Windows Defender Firewall, "Allow and app or feature through Windows Defender Firewall" (click Change settings before doing anything or the change won't take) and insure Steam, and Steam Web Helper are ticked in both private and public networks. For Origin, make sure any games in Origin listed in the firewall settings are also checked.

    Thanks.

    @Jimmyjam -

    Out of curiosity, I installed Steam and used a game from my Steam Library on a box with Windows Defender and confirmed that the above settings on Post #16 were set correctly.
    I was able to access and play without issues. When I disabled Steam Client and Helper, it didn't work, as expected.

    Let's see what your Defender settings are. Maybe that's it.

    Take care.

    So I checked and steam and helper where both allowed through the firewall and so where all of my origin items, I tried again and was still unable to connect. It is very strange because I am able to log onto the games and do things such as view item stores so there is a definite connecting its just the connection is lost when I search for a match.

    Right so- I turned off my antivirus and firewall and restarted and my game worked fine. Just gotta pinpoint exactly what it was tho.

    edit - It isn't working any more that was a temporary fix

    @Jimmyjam -

    Too bad that the WD setting were not the actual cause.

    Did you try the DNS?
    Did you cleanly uninstalling the Steam client and reinstalling it with a reboot?

    Are you running just WD as your AV and FW?
