Why does "NET USE" command fail ?

No matter how I code this command (Entered password, encoded password, or PASTED password), if fails with "The specified password is not correct".

Why does "NET USE" command fail ?-image.png

Yet I can fire up file explorer and MAP the drive and it works.
The second command listed is to show that a non-password share does work.

    Any help will be appreciated.

I posted crap before and deleted it

Can this type of login problem not be rectified in Windows beforehand and then attack the CMD after? once everything is working in the GUI?

The reason I'm looking for an alternate solution, is that Windows boots to fast (Even with fast boot turned off), and doesn't wait for the NAS box to wake up. It sometimes issues a message "Not all network drives attached" some times it doesn't and from some quick research, this was a problem prior to 1809 - (should be fixed, but not on 3 of my systems that are all 1909).

It wants a password, but its always incorrect.

Okies im with you on this,

If you can maybe add some sort of post screen memory integrity check, that would slow her down by some

That doesn't work, way to early in the sequence. What it needs to do is try and connect the network drive (which it does but only waits a short period of time before it gives up) and then wait until the NAS system responds. The wait time needs to be user controlled because you really don't want it to wait forever.

If you running it as a CMD you can run it via schedule task or with winpatrol you can run it after X mins of startup

This is exactly what I plan to do. But running "Net Use" will not accept my NAS password. The original/current password was set via "Mount network attached drive" one time only and has remained the same.

Is there a way via a CMD to change/reset the network access password ?

After discovering this link -> Map Network Drive in Windows 10 looking at the control panel example for credentials, the light bulb on top of my head went on ( Thanks @Brink ) . What the "Net Use" command wants is the userid & password that you would use to LOG into the server. I modified the "Net Use" command from its original form "Net Use S: \\NAS001\home * /USEResktop-Z170\Roger SR /PERSISTENT:YES" to "Net Use S: \\NAS001\home /USER:Roger SR xxxxxxxxxx /PERSISTENT:YES" where xxxxxxxxx is the password used to log into the server under the user ID of "Roger SR". Magically it works.
    Marked Solved.
I believe the password described in the "Net Use" help syntax must be if you created a Master password, which I never did.
