VPN : I'm hesitating between NordVPN and Surfshark, need help !

    Hello everyone,

I've been looking for a VPN over the last few days and I'm really hesitating between NordVPN and Surfshark. Both seem to be great VPN providers but their low prices scares me a little to be honest. Has anyone tried them both and could share his thought on this ? I've read this battle : Surfshark vs NordVPN : which VPN should I choose in 2019 ? but it does not help me much. They seem to be close to one another, with a little advantage for NordVPN ...

I've also seen that many websites promote ExpressVPN as being the best VPN provider, but it's like 2 or 3 times more expensive than NordVPN or Surfshark... Is it worth paying so much for a VPN ? I'm really scared that there's something sketchy behind NordVPN/Surfshark, hence their low prices...but many websites still recommend them as being really good.

Sorry, that was a bit long

Thank you for your hindsight on this, it will be super helpful ! :)

PS : I hope this thread in is the right section, do not hesitate to move it somewhere else if it's not.

    Hi Kiram -

    Welcome to Windows Ten Forums!

I would suggest using the TOR Browser - completely free:

    Tor Project | Download

NordVPN is good but they log all of your IP info, unlike TOR.

    Hope this helps!

    It's not that slow, lol.

It also depends on your connect speed, entry/exit nodes, etc.

What do you want to use a VPN for?

Maybe a good Proxy Server will do:

ProxySite.com - Free Web Proxy Site

Try AirVPN, they offer fair prices and do not log traffic.

I've used Nord and am not impressed. I prefer ProtonVPN because their dev team is former and current CERN scientists and engineers. Their servers are based in Switzerland as opposed to just their company. I also use ProtonMail for the same reasons, along with their mail servers being zero-knowledge as well as end-to-end encrypted

I do not see any information on their website certifying that they are zero-knowledge, so I'd hesitate to believe that they are not logging.

"Because they say so" is no assurance. A great number of VPN providers will say that they are "based" in say...Switzerland, and their offices may very well be...but that does not prove that their servers are not located in say...Dallas. The thing about VPN and other services like cloud storage is that they are only as secure as they can establish your TRUST.

I tried Tunnel Bear ... but it was slow.
I switched to Pure VPN. It works great.
