How to disable "Enter Network Credentials"

I wish to do away with this message which asks for a User/Pass that (afaik) doesn't exist.
I've followed these instructions (on both machines running Win10)

    • Go to Control Panel.
    • Go to Network & Sharing Center.
    • Click on Advanced Settings.
    • Go to All network Option.
    • Then click on Turn Off Password Protected Sharing.

But the message does not go away, and I cannot connect.
    Thanks not any help.

Create a local Admin account on each computer. It must have the same username and password on each one. Write its password down somewhere secure.

Use that username & password when you are challenged for network credentials.
    - You will not be challenged again after that one time.
    - You do not need to log in to that new admin account.
    - You will still be able to use password-protected sharing and all other normal network facilities.

Wow that worked. I have seen so many posts of people struggling to make even the most simple task of seeing another computer work. Thank you!

    Karl,

I'm glad your network issue has been resolved.

I have been using the same network setup procedure [successfully] for ten years now.
