Need to transfer files from Wired Desktop to Wireless Laptop

    Happy Thanksgiving to everyone.

This is the setup I have connected at the moment, Dell Optiplex 790 connected to my AV Receiver via 3.5mm to RCA (audio), connected to my TV via VGA Cable and connected to router via ethernet running Windows 10 Home Premium.

Also running a Dell Inspiron 17R 5720 via WiFi running Windows 10 Enterprise.

I don't have any flash drives or portable hard drives laying around to transfer files over, so how do I transfer files wirelessly via the network.

Hi TheDudestPriest. Welcome to TenForums @theDedestPriest

You could use file sharing to transfer files through network.

Not sure how much data you have or how fast your wireless connection is to router. Both of these items will drive the time it takes to transfer.

Seriously I would be looking at getting some external storage, no backups is not a desirable state.

Another option is to send yourself an email with attachments.
Open the second computer and view sent.

If you do this through email be aware of your data limits on your ISP plan.

Download speed is manageable (15.8 Mbps) but my upload speeds suck (.892). So that option would take me forever considering the files I need to move and the size of them.

Honestly, IMO, it would be so much easier to go buy a 16/32 GB thumb drive for $10 and move your data that way. But as Caledon Ken, has pointed out, you could use the windows file transfer method. I think you would be better served and better off just buying a flash drive.

Typically I would go that route, but my flash drive is loaned out at the moment and I need to dump some on the desktop system today because that is my media hub and the family is wanting to watch some movies I have on the laptop.

I said go buy one....I have and keep a half dozen or so laying around. You just never know when you'll need one.

If your laptop has a CD/DVD burner in it, you could use CD's or DVD's to save all your data.

If you open the email account on both computers it does not need to be received.
    Open the sent folder.
