Whats a Good Seedbox?
Hi guys,
Looks like seedboxes are more secure than vpns. Which seedboxes are good but cheap?
I also read that you can "root" a seedbox. What exactly does that mean?

These things are often used in delivering / obtaining pirated material -- any help over the use the software / hardware for acquiring or distributing pirated material is against Forum rules including "keygens", cracks etc etc.
I'm not sure if a seedbox has any other purpose than for that so I'm not commenting any more.
Cheers

This subject is another that has legitimate and illegitimate possible uses ... eg. VPNs can be used to circumvent legitimate security systems in place to protect copyright material and media, but they can also be used to protect a users data from being hacked as it travels through the Web
The main use of a Seedbox Device, that I can gather, is to distribute Torrent files at a higher speed compared to normal shared feeds - As a fair amount of legitimate software is distributed via torrent streams these days - A lot of Linux distros are the main one I know of then the general discussion of their use is OK here - although discussion of their other uses will not be allowed, and could lead to sanctions against members
Rooting is the act of taking the Operating system of a computerised device back to the lowest level possible which allows the user to perform tasks that were not allowed originally by the devices developer or seller, this action is a lot more of a "Black Art" in it's aims so should not be discussed here in any but the broadest terms
