Windows 10 Update and Wifi Issues

Ever since I updated windows 10 in October (and still with the recent update in November), I have been having wifi connectivity issues at work. I have no issues with public wifi or at home, but my internet repeatedly drops at work. My coworker has a MAC computer and has had no issues. My chromebook works fine. The wireless network shows up as connected, but internet drops every 1-5 minutes and eventually stops connecting at all. I have an Acer Aspire and have tried the network adapter troubleshooter and the results are “no problem identified.” I have completed the network adapter reset. I have the most up to date drivers for network adapters. I have the most recent Windows 10 update (Windows 10, 1909). I know there has been some information about some computers not being able to connect to routers after the recent Windows 10 Update interfering with wifi chips (Microsoft Admits That Windows 10 Update 1903 Knocks Out Wi-Fi). Because I only have Wifi issues at work, I am wondering if there are some routers that do not have this interaction effect with the Windows 10 Update. The router I have at home is over 10 years old, so I cannot go and purchase the same one that works at home. Does anyone know of a router that does not have this wifi connectivity issue as I have no other ideas for how to fix this problem? Or any other possible solutions for this problem?

Try a USB Wifi adapter. Most likely the signal at work is lower to keep it within a certain area of the building. I have not had any issues with wifi on either of my Windows devices. Acer Aspire laptops do have crappy antennas for the wifi. As for the link you pointed out, that was isolated to only one brand of computing devices and wifi chipset which was resolved shortly after. A lot had to do with trying to squeeze more battery life by changing how much power the adapter was using.

Same here. In my case, it is an Elitebook 8470p laptop. The wireless access points come and go without the laptop being moved. Resetting the network (Settings, Network & Internet, Network Reset) helped, but didn't totally solve it. My Windows 10 was a fresh install, all updates, and the latest WiFi drivers installed. I wrote a batch file that tested the WiFi connection on each reboot. I rebooted the laptop 500 times with the original, internal WiFiand had a 30% failure to connect rate. I finally gave up and installed an external USB WiFi. I rebooted 1000 times with the new USB WiFi and had a 1% failure rate.

The same laptop worked fine before the latest updates.

Thanks for the suggestion. I purchased a a USB Wifi adapter and tried it out today and unfortunately it did not help. It was the same as my own computer's wifi showing it is connected and has a strong signal, yet there is no internet connection. I am thinking it is more Acer related and will try to look at some Acer forums or ideas.
