    Networking Problem

I have two computers (Laptop and Desktop) on the same network (at home). My Desktop shows the picture which is attached. My Laptop does not have the two computers showing in networks. What is my problem and how can I solve it?

    Thanks

    Hi timlab55 -

Have you turned on Network Discovery on the Laptop?

Turn On or Off Network Discovery in Windows 10

    Use option 2.

I have both computers next to each other, and nothing worked. Any other suggestions?

I was having computer problems last night and I had to reinstall Windows again. But all drivers are in and running. How do I find my Network Name?

    Thanks

OK, try each of these procedures (one is a repeat - do it anyway.)

Network Computers are not Showing Up in Windows 10 | Windows OS Hub

Make sure that both your PC and Laptop are in sync with these procedures.
    Reboot each device after.

I have to run but please post back, thanks.

I did everything those sheets told me to do, and yet to no avail. Then it struck me, why not reset everything (networking) and see where that leaves me. In addition to that, I added a "1" to the workgroup name, and it all works. Now I can send files from one computer to another and back again.

Thanks so much for your help in this.

Well, this is what I did. I turned off one of the machines, and took that into the living room, as this is where I'm on my computer most of the time. Age does play a factor in this. Anyway, I turned on my computer (Living Room), play a game, did some stuff on Amazon and I said to myself, let's check. So I clicked on Network and OMG, not only is my living room computer not showing up now, but my tower isn't either. My media is both showing up, but not my computers. Before I came into the living room while having both computers together, I map both drives. Anyway, I was wondering, so I clicked on the map drives and they work.

So I did the net view again and this is the error I keep getting in the attached phone. So what's going on?

    @timlab55 -

Honestly speaking, there are just too many variables at this point for me to tackle in this venue.

    Please understand. Thanks.

Your right, but I do thank you for the info you gave me. I did a net view this morning and it seems to be working. I'll keep my eye on it during the day and week, and maybe something will pop up in your mind that what we could try. In the meantime, what is that code all about? That seems like it's the only one that comes up. Again thank you for your help.
