Miracast doesn't work on Windows 10

My Win 10 computer says Miracast doesn't work.

On his page ( How to use Miracast with Win 10? ), Solutions 1 & 2 were not the problem. But I was stopped on Solution 3 because I don't have a wireless network adapter. My wireless ability comes from my modem/router. And, I do not use a VPN.

How do I get Miracast working?

Helps to know what you are trying to cast to.

If you don't have a wireless network adapter in your computer then you can't use Miracast. The Miracast capability is provided by the wireless adapter. You'll have to get a USB WiFi adapter that supports Miracast.

Use Chrome Cast with Chrome. The Rolu devices are very limited when it comes to screen mirroring.

You don't want to use Miracast with Roku. You want to use Wireless Display.

    Roku - Enable Screen Mirroring

Contrary to the other opinion expressed in this thread, it works just fine.

    Wireless Display requires Miracast.

A Roku does not have the horsepower to do any kind of casting where it is the same as your computer is displaying. You can Chromecast and deal with horrible playback or use a Wireless HDMI.

Yes, you are actually correct, my mistake! On my desktop, with the WiFi disabled and running on LAN only, no Roku available. Once I enable the WiFi adapter, it becomes available.
