oh and one thing I recall happening to me once was that I had used a password that the router accepted but windows didn't like using or remembering.
it was like I was within the WPA2 key character limit in the router but windows didn't like it.
All I did was change my password by a couple of characters, I added one 3 letter word, and BAM, no more issues.
It's been so long since I had that I totally forgot about it.

show me a screenshot of what you see.
you have to click the properties button to get the screen on the right.

oh F me, sorry man . its under wireless properties in that window.
sheesh, I am doing much of this from memory as the only wifi device on Win10 I have is mostly used by my kid so I gotta kick him off to check things.

yet I see you don't even have that settings.

listen are you an admin on this machine? don't assume please verify in the user account settings.
is this a USB wifi adapter?
are you logged in with the Microsoft account or a local account?

you should have the same button I have but I have seen some machines that don't, and for no reason.its highly possible its a driver thing. but the screen I showed is a windows screen that was even in XP so I am not sure whats going on. google something like "wireless properties button missing"

since you are on an 802.11g network you can only be using WEP, maybe WPA. what ever security key type you have now, change it in your router to another. ie; if you have wep, change to WPA and vise versa.
what I am trying to do is change it so much window has to kinda reset the network adapter config.
I doubt it will work but its worth a shot.

lastly, because its an older wifi chip windows very well may just have a basic driver installed, there may not be an option to get to the screen I show, but again, this is a basic windows setting since the XP days. so.... :\

Found the solution: and works and now have the wireless properties button too.

open search, type "services.msc" open services.
Scroll down to "wlan auto config" right click, stop the service.

    Navigate to
"C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Wlansvc\ delete everything in this folder leaving only a folder called "profiles" delete everything in the "profiles" folder except for a folder called "interfaces" delete everything in the "interfaces" folder)

Restart "wlan auto config" connect to your wireless network, enter
your passkey, (ensure the connect automaticly box is checked)

Restart your computer job done, your computer will now connect to your wireless network automaticly on boot.
