Unable to open database in shared network folder

Hello again! I thought you'd be the guys who might be able to help me (as you're all geniuses!) You see, my works computer setup is only 3 PCs (One running W7 and two on W10) We have a sharing network folder (if that is the correct terminology to use) which houses our clients database (Access 2003!) The actual database is stored on a secondary partition on the machine running W7 it is then shared across the other two PCs - the problem I'm having is that the newer of the W10 machines (which I've just tried to set up today) isn't allowed access to the database in the shared folder.

All the machines are on the same network and the new PC can 'see' the main computer in My Computer. If I try and run the database I get this message (which is also the same one that I get if I try and open the database from the other (working) W10 machine with the main (W7) PC turned off) Does this mean that the newer W10 machine can't actually 'see' the main PC/shared folder?

As I was said before I have inputted the username and password from the main PC in network credentials and can see the PC in My Computer.....

    Many thanks in advance :)

You need to check permission on the share and the NTFS setting on the folder. Ar you connecting with a username and password thats on the database pc as by default it will pass details from 10 pc. Depending how its set up you can get problems with Access permission

Thanks for the reply. I inputted the user account username and password from the main PC in Network Credentials. Not sure if this was the thing to do though......

How do I check permissions and ntfs settings. How can I check the shared folder settings on the windows 10 pc that allows the databate to be opened? Can I mirror its setup on the newer pc?
    - one odd thing about the working w10 pc.....in my computer you can't see the main PC!
