    I have a 2010 Lenovo ThinkPad that still works fine. I have replaced the hard drive with a SSD. That really helped. It is obviously not as fast as a newer system but it is still very usable. So far I have been able to install and update every new version of Windows 10 on it. I don't know when a future Windows 10 "Feature Update" will bring it to its knees, but hopefully it can keep on ticking.

    @fireberd- I didn't find 'Smartbyte' in my Dell 7590.

    For my XPS15 9510 it was the Killer "Intelligence" Suite had, by default, Auto Bandwidth enabled.

    Disabling it and setting a custom large value for download I increased my down speed from 50 to 500 Mbps.

    Why a piece of software, supposedly dedicated to maximising wifi speeds, should throttle it so heavily beats me.
