Relocated PC can't connect to internet

PS - The facility does provide WIFI.

The facilities WiFi should allow you connection to complete the task of Manage Login. Ask them for a Password for your brother, even if it's a temporary Guest PW, and assistance with the set-up. I'm sure they have done this before and would be more than happy to help you.

Then, you can reset his password after verifying his account.

No. A PW for the WiFi, then go thru the "I forgot My Password" options in Windows.

Create a local account for safety then put it back at new site and it should work any problems you can use the local account. We assume there is no other account on the pc you can use.

That's correct. His brother forgot the PW, But he and the machine are at the facility, and as of his post#1 had not set up any WiFi connection, so, of course, he got the "No connection" error when he tried to do the Manage Logon to reset the password. Hence, my suggestions in post #2 and #4. Otherwise, he's gonna go in circles. Has to get to a Net connection before doing anything else. He could take it back home with him, fix it, and bring it back. Somehow get a net connection. Don't see any mention of another PC.

You don't need to sign in to connect to the WiFi at the new location. There is a network icon at the lower right on the sign in screen. Click on it and you get the same list of available WiFi as you see if you click the network icon on the task bar. You will be able to connect to the facility's WiFi without signing in. You just need to ask their technical people for the WiFi password so you can enter it when you try to connect.



Clicking on the network icon on the sign in screen gets you the same screen as shown in Option Four in this tutorial. You will then be able to follow the rest of the steps in Option Four to connect.
